Forewordby Valentina, virtual spokesbeing of Arcane Twilight
Greetings, all! Welcome to another edition of Arcane Twilight. Some of you may know that our editors, Mark and Carlo, were once part of DargonZine, an online fantasy magazine that began in the mid-1980s and which is quite likely the longest-running publication currently on the Internet today. Ornoth Liscomb, editor of DargonZine, recently interviewed Mark and Carlo about Arcane Twilight for the editorial of issue 19‑7. Please go and check it out when you get the chance! This issue features a story called "Reunion" by Rena Deutsch, who currently writes for DargonZine. She has been friends with the AT editors for many years, and they're glad to work with her once again. Mark's latest story is "Heroes Mirror", and it's a bit different than what we've printed in the past. In this case, you ‑‑ the reader ‑‑ are invited to continue the story past where it ends. We'll be keeping the idea open-ended, so the story doesn't have to conclude in a single issue. Send in your entry as per the submission guidelines (indicate that it's for "Heroes Mirror"), and if your story is chosen you will be paid accordingly, which brings me to the last bit of news: the payment rate will now be $25, starting with issue 1‑5. So what are you waiting for? Dive right in to this issue's contents (which includes the next exciting chapter of Carlo's web comic "Magic, Maiden, and Mist"), then flex those creative muscles and finish Mark's story. You could be $25 richer for it!
